An internationally active company based in South Tyrol, specializing in the custom production of steel and high-tensile metal components, stands out for its productivity excellence — the core of its competitiveness. To support it, however, a solid, agile, and modern IT infrastructure was needed.
The Challenge
The company was managing legacy solutions and on-premise servers that no longer provided the flexibility needed to support business evolution. It was therefore essential to migrate to a high-performance cloud infrastructure that could ensure operational continuity, scalability, and support for a more distributed workforce. The objective was twofold: modernize the IT system without disrupting workflows and ensure secure access to remote resources.
Our Approach
To meet the challenge, Hoverture adopted a hybrid approach:
Critical resources were migrated to Google Compute Engine (GCE), leveraging the power and reliability of Google Cloud’s VMs.
Other systems were modernized through the adoption of managed services from Google Cloud, reducing management complexity.
Custom IAM roles were configured to enable granular access control and ensure maximum security.
Lastly, automated start/stop policies were implemented for VMs to optimize resource usage and cut costs.
All personnel were involved in the process through training sessions and tailored support in using the new infrastructure, facilitating the adoption of the new cloud environment.
The Results
Guaranteed operational continuity during the entire migration, with no interruptions in production flows.
Reduced IT costs thanks to the pay-per-use model of Google Cloud and resource optimization.
Improved performance, scalability, and greater flexibility in handling workload peaks.
Secure remote access ensured by GCP’s multilayer security and advanced access management.
The intervention marked a quantum leap in infrastructure quality, bringing the company’s solidity into the cloud, where innovation and security go hand in hand.
